چکیده

This paper addresses the preparation and characterization of efficient adsorbents for tertiary treatment (oil content below 100 ppm) oil/water emulsions. Powdered low-density polyethylene (LDPE) was modified by radio-frequency plasma discharge then used as a medium emulsified diesel mixtures in concentration range from 75 ppm to 200 ppm. Plasma significantly increased wettability LDPE powder, which resulted enhanced sorption capability oil component emulsions comparison untreated powder. Emulsions formed distilled water commercial (DO) with concentrations were model oily polluted water. The prepared using ultrasonication without surfactant. droplet size directly proportional sonication time ranged 135 nm 185 nm. A 20 min found be sufficient prepare stable an average approximately 150 tests realized batch system. effect contact initial studied under standard atmospheric conditions at stirring speed 340 rpm adsorbent particle 500 microns. efficiency plasma-treated powder removal dependent on concentration. It decreased 96.7% 79.5% amount adsorbed increasing time. fastest adsorption observed during first 30 treatment. kinetics oils onto sorbent followed pseudo-second-order kinetic model.

Protein adsorption on various plasma-treated polyethylene terephthalate substrates.

Protein adhesion and cell response to plasma-treated polymer surfaces were studied. The polymer polyethylene terephthalate (PET) was treated in either an oxygen plasma to make the surface hydrophilic, or a tetrafluoromethane CF(4) plasma to make the surface hydrophobic. The plasma source was radiofrequency (RF) discharge. The adsorption of albumin and other proteins from a cell-culture medium o...

Human plasma derived drugs separation by fractionation of plasma with polyethylene glycol

Background: There are varieties of purification techniques for separation of human plasma proteins such as salting out, ion exchange chromatography, and ethanol fractionation. There are limitations for each method, for example in salting out method, the salt has to be removed in an additional step. Ion exchange chromatography is difficult for scaling up, and plasma fractionation is a time consu...

the effect of functional/notional approach on the proficiency level of efl learners and its evaluation through functional test

in fact, this study focused on the following questions: 1. is there any difference between the effect of functional/notional approach and the structural approaches to language teaching on the proficiency test of efl learners? 2. can a rather innovative language test referred to as "functional test" ge devised so so to measure the proficiency test of efl learners, and thus be as much reliable an...

Dynamics and Separation-based Adsorption of Binary Mixtures of CH4, CO2 and H2S on MIL-47: GCMC and MD Studies

This study aimed to investigate the adsorption of CH4, CO2, H2S at a temperature of 298.15 K and pressurerange of 0.1 to 30 atm, and compare the results with experimental data for MIL-47 using GCMC. Themaximum CH4, CO2 and H2S adsorptions were 3.6, 10.45, and 12.57 mol.kg-1, respectively. In addition, theselectivity for binary mixtures of CH4/CO2 and CH4/H2S was calculated. Th...
